Sterilizer, what process to choose?
For sterilization, several methods may be implemented.
The choice of the sterilization process is a function of the thermal resistance of the medical device to be sterilized. Sterilization are distinguished at high temperature and low temperature sterilization.
Available methods are sterilization by destruction of physical processes (heat or irradiation), sterilization by chemical processes (gas, soaking), sterilization by separation processes (filtration).
The different types of sterilization is sterilization with moist heat in the saturated water vapor means, the dry heat sterilization, sterilization with ethylene oxide, steam sterilization-formaldehyde immersion in a disinfectant solution.
Each of these methods has precise characteristics and a clean procedure. Each one is not suitable for all types of material and should choose his equipment to avoid any mishap.
