Thermometer Thermoscan Pro 6000
Description
The Braun ThermoScan thermometer has been carefully developed for accurate, safe and fast humn body temperature measurements in the ear. The shape of the thermomete prevents it from being inserted too far into the ear canal to damage the eardrum.
Advantages
Easy access and speed
Less invasive to the patient than measurements of oral, axillary or rectal temperature
No contact with the mucous membranes
Staff can quickly capture measurements in the ear, even with difficult patient populations
It would accurately estimate rapid fluctuations in central temperature because the tympanic membrane is close to the hypothalamus (Stanhope, 2006).
PerfecTemp technology
The device collects information about the direction and depth of the probe when it is placed in the ear canal and incorporates it into the temperature calculation
Promotes the accuracy of the measurement with respect to the central temperature, especially when the probe is not perfectly positioned
ExacTemp technology
Improves the reliability of the temperature measurement by detecting the stability of the probe position during playback. Constant probe position helps provide accurate temperature measurement.
The information light flashes during measurement and remains lit when playback is complete, indicating that the probe has reached a constant position.
Preheated probe tip
The tip of the device and the sensor heat to a temperature close to that of the human body.
Sensor heating increases accuracy by reducing the difference between sensor / tip temperature and tissue.
The heated tip also provides more comfort to the patient during insertion.
